Having retired I decided to reacquaint myself with wood turning and am enjoying creating beautiful pieces and learning new techniques.
I have always created things using wood and since I learnt a thing or two about wood turning whilst at school, I thought this may be something to get back into.
Before I retired, I bought myself a small wood lathe and started making basic items, and as I got more and more into it, I could see myself doing this in retirement. Once I moved, I upgraded my equipment and started making more interesting pieces. Soon after, I joined the Cornwall Association of Woodturners and started doing local fares.
The full range can be seen on my Etsy site, but if you would like something in a different size, wood or colour please get in contact.
I use resin in some of my work where the wood requires it, or when I think it will enhance the product.
My best seller is my pinecone resin bowls, these are very popular and are usually sold very quickly and I have completed a number of commissions for these when a customer would like a colour to match their décor. They can only be made during the warmer months as the cold affects the resin quality.
As much as I love crafting my own designs, I also accept commissions.
